C-lant Artificial Seaweed Pilot Program Launched in Phum Thmey Fishing Community, Kep Province

Kep: In a collaborative effort between the Fisheries Administration, Kyoto Prefectural University, and Aqua Note of Japan, a pioneering initiative to pilot and plant C-lant artificial algae has been initiated in the burgeoning fishing community of Phum Thmey, Kep province. The endeavor witnessed active participation from community members, fisheries administration officials, and university students.

The Fisheries Administration, in conjunction with its partners, spearheaded the cultivation of artificial seaweed C-lant, marking a significant milestone in bolstering marine biodiversity. Scheduled on March 13, 2024, this venture is poised to offer multifaceted benefits, ranging from augmenting natural stocks to providing crucial habitats, feeding grounds, and spawning areas for marine fauna, thereby fortifying the foundation of marine ecosystems.
